LABELLING - Updated fish list
From today, updated fish labelling regulations are in force across the UK.
Fish labelling regulations require that certain fish and aquaculture products are labelled when they're sold to consumers, with the commercial designation of the fish species (such as cod, salmon, and so on), the production method and the catch area or country of origin.
The 2006 amendment regulations, which include some newly commercialised species such as yellowfin sole and speckled flounder, came into force in England, Scotland and Northern Ireland last month and today they come into effect in Wales.
