FLAVORUINGS - Removal of flavourings from EU list – Council Discussions

The following is an extract from the minutes of the Agriculture and Fisheries Council meeting:

The Council decided not to oppose the adoption of a Commission regulation removing certain flavouring substances from the EU list of flavourings approved for use in and on foods listed in annex I to regulation 1334/2008 (7498/15).

The Commission regulation is subject to the so called regulatory procedure with scrutiny. This means that now that the Council has given its consent, the Commission may adopt it, unless the European Parliament objects.
