CONTAMINANTS – Council discussions: Maximum levels of cadmium

The following is an extract from the Economic and Financial Affairs Council meeting:

The Council decided not to oppose the adoption by the Commission of a regulation amending regulation 1881/2006 as regards maximum levels of cadmium in foodstuffs.

The draft regulation is subject to the regulatory procedure with scrutiny. The Commission may now adopt it, unless the European Parliament objects.
