ENFORCEMENT – Council consideration: Methods of sampling and analysis for the control of dioxins and PCBs
The following is an extract from the Minutes of the Agriculture and Fisheries Council meeting held on the 24 March 2014:
The Council decided not to oppose the adoption of a Commission regulation laying down methods of sampling and analysis for the control of levels of dioxins, dioxin-like PCBs (polychlorinated biphenyl) and non-dioxin-like PCBs in certain foodstuffs (6758/14).
The Commission regulation is subject to the regulatory procedure with scrutiny. This means that now that the Council has given its consent, the Commission may adopt it, unless the European Parliament objects.
